Research Description: The Smartcat Translator for WPML plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the ‘orderby’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.72 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
Affected versions: max 3.1.73.

Research Description: The Smartcat Translator for WPML plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the 'routeData' REST endpoint in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.77. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the plugin's Smartcat API credentials (account ID, API secret key, hub key, API host, and hub host), effectively hijacking the translation service or causing a denial of service.
